For all those affected by the Perry tragedy:
No one can truly know the pain you and your loved ones are going through after this tragedy. You are strong and resilient, and yet this painful crisis has caused disruptions in many functions of your daily life, including sleep, appetite, anxiety, fear, feeling of security, your overall well-being and more. Everyone risks being overwhelmed by the intensity of this tragedy. In the coming days, weeks, and months the Crisis Response & Counseling Centre wants you to know we’re here to support you.
We are victim advisors and we are trained to respond to your needs in a crisis. If we haven't contacted you individually yet it's only because we haven't received your contact information yet. Our goal is to support anyone who has been affected by this violence, including the victims, families and friends of the victims and those simply fighting to face this new reality.
Our advisors are local, free, volunteer and confidential. While we stay in Perry and provide services, we just want you to know that we are really looking forward to working with you and providing you everything that can help you at this time.
We respond 24 hours a day and we are completely mobile to go to your home, workplace, public place and you are welcome to our office. You do not have to qualify for our services and there are no session limits to meet with an advisor. Our services are available in English and Spanish. There is no need too small or too great that we are not willing to help you meet. Below are examples of how we are already serving so many survivors in Perry:
- Providing counselling in crisis and processing emotions
- Helping you complete crime victims' compensation forms to claim financial reimbursement for transportation, medical bills, therapy, lost work, and more.
Supporting you through any legal or police interactions, as we are certified to attend these events with you
- Financial assistance for some bills if you qualify
- Face-to-face crisis consultation sessions at homes, offices or public places
- Counselling over the phone

- Security Planning
- Court escort
- Accompanying to the hospital
- Information and resources
- Funeral Planning
- Facilitate healing circles or groups.
- Help find ways to honor those who have died or wounded

Our staff is in Perry every day. Next week, Hotel Pattee has given us space and time for walk-in or call-in services..
